Home game starter kit

Poker chips

Clay-composite poker chip set with carrying case

Heavier chips feel better in your hand and stack cleanly. A set with a carrying case keeps everything together between game nights.

  • Case with a secure latch

  • Two decks with different backs

Buying tips for a first home game

  • Start small. A chip set, two decks of plastic cards and a set of dealer buttons are enough for a fun night.
  • Count your players. Plan for about 40 to 50 chips per player so there is enough for rebuys and change.
  • Agree on stakes before you deal. Decide the blinds, the starting stack and when they go up. Keep it friendly and for fun.
  • Know your local rules. Check the laws where you live before you play for money. This site only uses play chips.
